In May 2018, Transport for Wales appointed KeolisAmey Wales Cymru as their Operator and Development Partner to realise a multi-billion-pound transformation of the Welsh rail network.

With the oversight of KeolisAmey Wales Cymru, AmeyKeolis InfraCo (operating as Transport for Wales Rail Services) have formed a revolutionary new organisation responsible for operating and maintaining the Core Valley Lines infrastructure from March 2020. Transport for Wales Rail Services will be responsible for day to day management of railway infrastructure assets, renewals and asset operations management for the next 14 years.

This is a great opportunity for the railway in Wales, particularly the Cardiff Valleys, and we are looking to build a dedicated and highly motivated team to help deliver on the commitments made to the Welsh Government and provide the railway that the people of Wales can be proud of.

As part of this, we need great people to join us – we are looking for an Administrator to join our team on a permanent basis.

You will provide efficient and effective administration support to the section managers as requested, with a forward-thinking attitude and the ability to use your initiative.


Key responsibilities include:

§  Administration of rosters and timesheets.

§  Accurately update systems, databases and records as required including raising purchase orders and payment of invoices where directed.

§  Input to and maintain spread sheets/databases/systems and produce and collate reports

§  Set up and maintain efficient filing systems for the Section(s) paying particular attention to confidentiality where necessary and also those documents deemed to be safety critical.

§  Undertake general office administration duties for the Section Manager using a range of knowledge and skills to provide effective support. 

§  Provide support and assistance to other Administrators and business support positions as directed.


Experience required:

§  Experience of general administration clerical support and office management

§  Excellent time manager

§  Knowledge of relevant IT systems with exposure to management systems and data entry and database applications. 

§  Experience/use of MS Word and MS Excel Outlook PowerPoint in a general administrative role 

§  Ability to work on own initiative

§  Flexible  

§  Excellent interpersonal, communication and organisation skills and ability to develop and maintain good working relationships

§  Knowledge of operational railway environment is desirable but not essential for the role.
