We are looking for people to join our Trainee Conductor training courses in 2019 for Chester and surrounding areas and to maintain our talent pool for future positions.
What you’ll do
As a Conductor the view from “your office” changes by the minute and no two days are ever the same. If you’re up for a challenge and want to be in control of your future, then it’s time for a change of scenery!
You’ll provide a fantastic experience by being at the heart of our services.
· Making sure our trains run both safely and on time
· Helping our customers board our trains
· Make on-board announcements
· Be approachable and generally give a first-class service to ensure our customer’s journey is an enjoyable one.
The skills you'll need
· Be smartly presented and highly customer focused
· Be calm under pressure
· Be pro-active in recognising and diffusing potentially difficult situations.
· Be positive with a “can do” attitude
What else you'll need to know
We’re here for our customers, whenever they need to travel which means your shift lengths & patterns will vary – so you’ll need to be flexible in your working hours.
· Working an average of 35 hours per week
· Your shift pattern will include early starts/late finishes and also working weekends & Bank Holidays

How we'll reward you
You’ll start on a competitive salary of £25,142 which will rise to £33,523 once fully qualified (approx. 26 weeks). Your package includes the chance to join our pension scheme, free & reduced rate train travel for you and certain family members, full uniform and 26 days paid holiday per year.
