As the operator of Transport for Wales Rail Services, we are about to embark on a unique and historic journey together. Change won’t happen overnight but we’re excited about the possibilities. You will be part of this bright new future; playing an active role in shaping our plans to keep Wales moving, by providing safe and customer-focused services.
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the successful candidate will be the Professional Head of Occupational Health and Safety, responsible for leading and implementing coherent safety policies, strategies and management systems within our Transport for Wales Rail Services.
You will be responsible for the HSQE Department and work closely with fellow Directors, senior managers and other colleagues in TFW Rail Services as well as representative bodies. In addition, your role will work closely with senior level stakeholders and partners such as the Department for Transport, ORR, ATOC, RSSB and Network Rail.
You must hold Chartered Membership of the Institution of Occupational Safety & Health (CMIOSH) as well as NEBOSH Diploma and Environmental Management Certificate.
5 years management experience (including in safety management positions) is essential as well as extensive knowledge and experience of occupational health and safety issues, legislation, standards and best practice.
