We are recruiting for an Active Travel Manager to join our Safety & Assurance Team on a permanent basis.
In this role you will manage and support the delivery of the Transport for Wales Active Travel programmes in partnership with internal and external stakeholders. Your focus will be to plan and promote active travel across Wales.
You will build and drive the delivery of meaningful strategies that fully align with the Active Travel (Wales) Act and Well-being of Future Generations (Wales) Act, supporting the improvement of the social, economic, environmental and cultural well-being of Wales.
The key responsibilities will be:• Work closely with the Active Travel team at TfW to support delivery of TfW’s active travel strategy and programme.• Manage the delivery of the TfWRL Active Travel Delivery Plan and associated work streams in a manner that supports end-to-end journeys;• Set out the approach to embed the business objectives for the Active Travel (Wales) Act across the organisation at all levels and throughout the Wales and Borders network; and• Provide assurance that we are committed to meeting the requirements of relevant legislation, policies and other commitments relating to sustainability, accessibility and the Well-being of Future Generations (Wales) Act.
We are looking for someone who has experience in transport planning, that can demonstrate working knowledge of the Active Travel (Wales) Act. You will have a track record of leading and delivering on multiple projects, with excellent communication skills, and the ability to build positive relationships with multiple stakeholders across the business.
Travel across our network will be required in this role.
